Camper Service

Terms of use

Last updated: 13 September 2026. Translation for convenience; the German version is legally binding.

Scope

These terms apply to the Camper Service app for iPhone. The provider is Yannick Wippert (legal notice). You get the app through Apple’s App Store. The licence is governed by Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA). These terms add points that concern this app specifically. Where they conflict, Apple’s licence agreement takes precedence.

What the app does

Camper Service is an information service. The app shows dump stations, sites with a dump point and water points for motorhomes, their distance and direction from your location, and hands destinations to navigation apps from other providers. The app does not plan routes and does not broker any services of station operators. There is no entitlement to particular stations being included or to individual features remaining unchanged.

Where the data comes from — please check on site

Station information comes from OpenStreetMap and is collected by volunteers. I take it over and prepare it, but do not check each station on site. Some features are estimated and marked as “likely” in the app; how these estimates are made is explained on the support page.

Stations may therefore be missing, closed, out of order, subject to a fee, guests-only or unsuitable for your vehicle, even if the app shows otherwise. Check on site whether you are allowed and able to use a station. Signs, operator instructions and local rules always take precedence over the app. Dispose of waste water and toilet contents only at designated points.

Use while driving

If you are driving, only operate the app to the extent permitted by the traffic laws of the country you are in — in Germany, § 23(1a) StVO. If in doubt, only when stationary or let a passenger do it. The direction arrow shows a straight line, not a drivable route. Traffic rules, road signs and traffic conditions always take precedence over the app.

Navigation and third-party content

When you hand a destination to Apple Maps, Google Maps or Waze, open an operator’s website or report a problem to OpenStreetMap, you are using services of other providers. Their terms apply. I am not responsible for the routes, content or availability of those services.

Licences

Station data © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License (ODbL). The app’s data set is itself licensed under the ODbL and is available free of charge on request (see support). The ODbL applies to the data set, not to the app, its design or its code.

Liability

I am liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and under the German Product Liability Act. For slight negligence I am only liable for breach of an essential obligation you are entitled to rely on, limited to foreseeable, typical damage. Otherwise liability is excluded.

Because station information comes from third parties (see “Where the data comes from”), I do not warrant that it is accurate, complete or up to date.

Changes

I may change these terms, for example when new features are added. The version shown on this page at the time of your use applies.

Governing law and contact

German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer habitually resident in another country, the mandatory consumer protection rules of that country remain unaffected. Questions about these terms to kontakt@camper-service.app.
